TOURISM & LOCAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Our Master in Tourism & Spanish Culture is designed for international students who want to understand Spain’s tourism industry while exploring its cultural heritage, traditions, and social environment.
Students will gain academic knowledge about tourism, culture, and Spanish society while experiencing Spain as one of the world’s most important tourism destinations.

Tourism, Local Development & Spanish Culture Training
SPANISH LANGUAGE COURSE A1 / A2 (200H)
Students begin with a Spanish language course (A1–A2) designed to develop communication skills for everyday life and professional environments in Spain.
This first stage helps students improve their Spanish while adapting to Spanish culture and daily life, opening the door to new academic and professional opportunities.
MASTER IN TOURISM, LOCAL DEVELOPMENT & SPANISH CULTURE – (600H)
Students complete the Master in Tourism, Local Development & Spanish Culture at the Universitat de València, focusing on tourism development, Spanish culture, and local economic growth.
The training includes:
- Spanish culture and civilization
- Recent history of Western societies and contemporary Spain
- Tourism management systems
- Introduction to local development
- Social economy and sustainable development
- Tourism and regional development
- Entrepreneurship in tourism activities
- Human resources organization in tourism
- Experiential tourism and tourism innovation
- Spanish gastronomy and cultural heritage
Students also complete a Master Final Project (TFM) as part of the academic program.
TOURISM & LOCAL DEVELOPMENT – (150H)
Students complete specialized training focused on the structure and operation of the Spanish tourism sector, one of the most important industries in Europe.
The training includes:
- Structure of the tourism sector
- Human resources in tourism accommodation
- Marketing applied to tourism
- Protocol and public relations
- Tourism accommodation management.
- Professional training and labor orientation
This training allows students to understand how tourism businesses and hospitality organizations operate in Spain.

PAID INTERNSHIPS
Students may complete professional internships in 3★, 4★ and 5★ hotels, luxury resorts, and leading tourism companies across Spain, including destinations on the Iberian Peninsula as well as the Canary and Balearic Islands.
These placements allow students to gain hands-on experience in Spain’s world-class tourism and hospitality sector, learning how international hotels and tourism businesses operate in one of the most visited countries in the world.
Internships may include accommodation and meals, a 40-hour workweek with two days off, and a monthly allowance from €300 (*), depending on the company and specific internship conditions.
Our team provides personalized support to help students secure the most suitable internship opportunities, taking into account their academic background, professional interests, and career goals within the tourism industry.
Students may also access opportunities in tourism organizations, travel agencies, cultural institutions, and destination management companies, gaining valuable insight into Spain’s tourism ecosystem.
